The coin clapper Phach

This wooden rattle from Vietnam is used to accompany singing and dancing. The coins can be used like cymbals while the second stick is used for scratching.  The coins also stand as a symbol for the respect of his owner. This rattle is mainly used by the female singer in the Vietnamese "Hat a Dao" tradition (which refers to the Japanese "Geisha"), accompanied by a small drum and the two-stringed Vietnamese lute Nguyet
