Instruments
The dulcimer YangQin
Coming from ancinet Persia,. the dulcimer "Santoor" traveled on the silk road to Asia and China. There, it was modified and is reflecting
it's ancestors with the name "Yang Qin", which translates to "Western instrument".

The model shown above is the common appearance of actual instruments. The strings run over 45 bridges, thus creating a diatonic scale reaching over five octaves. Fine tuning sliders provide the possibility to change the pitch in half tone steps, so a quick change from Major to Minor is not a problem. The rather huge instruments mostly are supported by a rack on wheels, and the strings get beaten by little hammers.

The tuning of the strings is showing an interesting system in the diatonic scale, providing octaves and fifths next to each other.
