The Guan Ze
reed instrument is a free Chinese version of the "Duduk" from Armenia.
It is easily recognized by its typical warm and deep sound.
Versions of this instrument travelled up to Mongolia resulting in analogue instruments called "Guanzi" and "Bili".
Not shown on this picture is the binding of the mouthpiece which can help to adjust the tuning of the Guan Ze.
Players use the circular breathing technique and need a strong pressure from the stomache to create the deep sound.
