Instruments
The Bawu
What looks like a length flute actually is none. This aerophone is a reed instrument with a range of one octave. It is an intimate, low but charming instrument with a soft but brilliant voice.  Unlike other reed instruments you can only produce a tone by blowing in.

The model shown above has six playing holes, is tuned pentatonic on the C key and unluckily is easy overblown.
The instrument can be tuned by stretching or narrowing the joint between the two parts.
Chromatic side tones can be played by covering the half hole with a finger, so a diatonic use is also possible.
The instruments gets more and more famous, even outside of China, because of his sweet warm tone.
