Playing AngKlung
The
exotic
layout of twelve or more hanging bamboo plates made this instrument
popular allover the world. Mostly smaller sizes of this instrument are
sold as tourist souvenirs, some of them even in bad quality. The Anklung nowadays
appears in many sizes and tunings, most common are
pentatonic and chromatic scales. It is
not easy to play because the different sizes of the shaken bamboo
plates are always creating slightly different shaking tremoli, all
sounding with a different speed.
